Good morning!
Welcome to your morning coffee! May our Heavenly Father inspire and invite us to give of ourselves to others. Father you have given each of us time, talent, and treasure. May we give of each of these, and in doing so, give you all the glory. Father in the name of Jesus and by the Spirit, help us to give how you ask us to, and share with us your delight! Amen!

Your Morning Scripture: Matthew 6:3-4
But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
...
What is so important about giving in secret? Why does God promise us a reward if we give in secret?
God is the answer. When we hide our involvement in the God we do, only God Himself is left. And so giving in secret is the surest way to make sure that God gets all of the glory.
How secret is our giving? Do we like to make small comments, drop small hints that we might have responsible for some good that was done? Do we give in secret reluctantly, hoping that we will be discovered?
Or do we join with others in rejoicing in God's goodness? Do we delight in taking these extra measures to make sure God is glorified?
I don't know about you, but my fallen flesh struggles against my new birth in the Spirit. And when I give my pride rises up, calling out for glory that I do not deserve. And by the Spirit I know that if I do lay claim to God's glory, I cannot have it. Instead I will have a momentary, passing shadow. I will get His glory. And I will not share in His joy.
And so we are to give in secret so that God will be glorified and praised, both in the world and in our hearts. And He will reward us and share with us His joy.
