Good morning!
Welcome to your morning coffee! May our Heavenly Father remind us again today, just why He does what He does for us. Father, you love us. That is why you do what you do. And though we can always know this fact to be true, our hearts will wander, and forget. God, you love us. We should live our daily lives at peace and at rest in the surety of your great love for us. In the powerful name of Jesus, by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, please bring us back, afresh and anew, to the awareness of your great love! Amen.

Why save us? Why did God send His son to save us at such a terrible cost? Why didn't God just kill Adam and Eve and try again? Why?
Love.
I think we've functionally forgotten this, as God's kids. That we are God's kids because He so loved. Love is the why.
Legalism, trying to control each other with rules to satisfy ourselves as our own god, it just doesn't work if love is the why. God gave law to reveal our sin, our need for a savior. And the rules we live by are for our best good, our great and wonder-filled flourishing. Because of love.
Whatever-you'd-like-to-believe-ism (also known as relativism) isn't love either. Real love must also be true. And true love calls us out of our sin and, by faith, into repentance and forgiveness. And adoption as sons and daughters to the God who we hated and were enemies to.
God so loved.
As believers, we need to daily remind ourselves that we get to be a part of this, that we get the riches of His grace, because of His love, and not because of anything that we have done to earn or deserve it.
Because of God's love, He has shown us grace for our sin. He has lovingly saved us from our sin. And He, in love, has called you daughter, and son.
Why do for us what we could not do for ourselves? Because He loves us.
God loves you.
That's why.
No matter is happening in your life right now. No matter what your day to day life looks like.
Rest in His love. Trust in His love.
Think and act and speak, in His love, in the name of His son Jesus. And be guarded by His peace.
