Good morning!
Welcome to your morning coffee! May our Heavenly Father help us to see a true picture of ourselves today. Father, gently guide us in judging ourselves rightly today. Are we sincere? Are we obedient? Are we dependent? How are we molding our outward and inward life to your will? Walk with us as you discipline and grow us, Father. In the name of Jesus help us to see and understand your will for our lives. And then help us to obey you!
Your Morning Song: "The Secret Place" by Phil Wickham
Your Morning Scripture: Matthew 6:6
But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door
and pray to your Father who is in secret.
And your Father who sees in secret
will reward you.

How go your hidden prayers?
Someone once said that the depth of our faith cannot exceed the depth of our prayer life. And I hated those words. But I could not reject them. Because during that time I had been struggling deeply with my faith, with life, with how to think and live and do all things according to God. And those words exposed the heart of my problem.
I wasn't actually talking to God about any of it. And because I wasn't talking to him, he wasn't talking to me.
Don't misunderstand me. God isn't some petty child who will just take his ball and go home of you don't play his way.
But if we are not talking to him, and he still talks to us, then he is affirming the foolishness of our self-reliance.
And just because we pray doesn't mean that we are actually talking to God. If we come with selfish, prideful hearts meaning only to give him lip-service prayer, then he will simply let us talk, and remain silent.
No. Secrecy and hiding give us a greater opportunity to actually mean what we say when we pray. God desires us to pray as we are to worship, in spirit and in truth.
If we talk to God in this sincere way and in this secret place, he will talk to us through his word, by the Spirit maturing us from within, and by our fellowship with others who come to the Father in spirit and in truth.
How go your hidden prayers?
Are you living in the daily reality of God's promised reward? He may choose to reward you however he pleases. The details will likely be different for each one of us. But we will all have our hearts filled to overflowing. The garden of our thought-life will become more deeply beautiful by the Great Gardener of our inner being.
God's delight expressed throughout the whole of us will be our overflowing reward for what we do in our secret places and hidden spaces.
